Using HP-type printers, this customer requires barcoding in addition to readable text and needed every carton printed to be clear and concise. The Printhead Guardian reaches out to the package, follows the contour of the substrate and provides that print; in addition, it protects the printheads from errant cartons.

The product being printed is a very thin, flexible printed circuit element that has a tendency to curl at the edges; hence, the position of the Printhead Guardian and guiding wheel.

The Printhead Guardian allowed the customer to use an HP-type printer with fast dry ink for milk containers that are not controlled very well by the conveyor guide rails.
